Can I use part of a filename in a Watermark?

Hi,

I have many .tif files that I have to convert to pdf and then stamp with a unique watermark.

This watermark will be based on the filename, but only part of it. For instance a document with the filename bmw06125_x_1.pdf would need to be stamped with a watermark saying something like 'See mw06125'.

So basically all I need is the mw06125 part of the filename to become part of the watermark is this possible with my copy of Acrobat Pro.

I'm very new to this software and have yet to actually use it but I know it will allow me to automate a lot of the stamping and converting. I was also wondering if it were possible to use Excel spreadsheets as part of the automation, because I am able to write a formula that will create the name.

Any help would be appreciated.
