Can't Edit PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

I have purchased a subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC so that I can edit PDF files. I have opened the file in the correct program (not reader) and I can delete text and numbers, but cannot type in the corrected text or numbers.  I am also told that "the original font F2 is not available or can't be used in editing. Adobe Acrobat DC is using the font minion pro in it's place".  Why can't i just re-type in my changes within the text boxes? What am i doing wrong?

Chances are that the file you are trying to edit is a scanned document that was OCRed with an older version of Acrobat (or with a different OCR application). Acrobat DC allows you to edit scanned documents that are OCRed in Acrobat DC. You may want to re-run OCR to see if that fixes your problem. If that is not the case, you may be able to export your document as a series of high resolution TIFF images (e.g. 600dpi), and then import these images back into Acrobat and then try to edit the document. This should automatically run OCR.

We purchase to try this out to see if it suffices the cost.  We cannot edit documents. The PDF's show up in the Edit as an image pdf.  Very disappointing and time-consuming. Too complicated. It seems Adobe as high-tech would be able to read any pdf document--old or new.

It is... It just seems your PDF is composed of images, so that's what you can edit in it.
