Can't open Adobe Acrobat after installing

I just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 but I can't open it and it never asked for the serial number, so I presume that's the problem - How do I resolve that?

because adobe didn't engineer acrobat 9 to work with new os'es and os makers didn't engineer their os'es to work with acrobat 9.

That sounds strange, it's a program I paid for a couple of years ago, why shouldn't it work?

unless you're using an old os, acrobat 9 won't work properly (or not at all).
