Question

Cannot convert Word files to PDF

When attempting to create a PDF from a Word file in Adobe, I get an error that reads:

"An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."

I have to convert over 50,000 documents to PDF. Opening each document individually and saving them as a PDF will take far too long.

Is there a fix for this?

System: Windows 10

Word 16

Updated version of Adobe Acrobat

Hi Alicia,

Could you please let us know the Acrobat version you are using? And also could you please try Acrobat repair and let us know if it fixes the issue.

Acrobat, by design and by License, is a individual user desktop application and not a server application.

You can use Acrobat Pro's Actions to configure for processing sequential files but will have to bail out periodically then restart Acrobat and the Action. You may find you have to reboot the computer periodically.

So with only Acrobat the job can be done - incrementally.

Alternative? - Research the web for a server application.
