cannot open Korean Filename.PDF or special character filename.PDF .

Acrobat Version : Adobe Acrobat Xi (Engilsh) 11.0.2

Would you please help me?

when I open the 가나다.pdf (가나다 is 2bytes korean character) Application stop pop-up.

For more details. APPCRASH message but, I cannot find this issue.

Hello,

Thanks for Using Adobe Acrobat . Really sorry about the issue that you are facing .

  1. Can you please share with us the Operating system configuration you are using ? It is Win 7 English or Win Korean ? 32bit or 64 bit ?
  2. Are you facing this issue with all PDF files with Korean/Special characters as the names. If its fine, can you please share any PDF with us for which you are getting this Crash ?
  3. When  Acrobat Crashes (If you get this error message "Adobe has stopped working") , Can you please share with us the Crash Logs .

      For Getting the Crash Logs:

  1.    When Acrobat Crashes , Open Windows Task Manager
  2.    -> Got To Processes, There you can see a process Acrobat.exe
  3.    Right Click on this process and click "Create Dump File"
  4.    Dump file will be created in the Temp folder of user (as specified on the dialog you get after creating dump files).
  5.    Save this DMP file on any Cloud Storage and Share the link for that with us on mail for us to investigate that further.

You can share the PDF file and the dump on ajain@adobe.com

We were unable to reproduce this issue at our End but as per the Crash dumps shared by you, We have shared your concern with the engineering team and we will try to get back with a fix for this issue in our Future updates.

I have same situation.

I'm on
Adobe Acrobat XI ver: 11.0.19

Windows 7 Enterprise (English) Service Pack 1

When System Locale is set to Korean (Korea): app crashes opening 가나다.pdf
When System Locale is set to English (United States): opens 가나다.pdf fine.

Hoep you can help to solve this issue.

  2. Are you facing this issue with all PDF files with Korean/Special

    which you are getting this Crash ?     Attached sample files are identical excepting the file name (Eng./Korean). All of files of having Korean file name is not open
  3. When  Acrobat Crashes (If you get this error message "Adobe has stopped working") , Can you please share with us the Crash Logs 

- please refer to attachment files. DMP file, cannot open PDF files.

I can open same file via acrobat reader DC.

language change for acrobat menu.

English -> same as system locale

change, but still not open PDF file.

Why such an old version? There have been countless fixes in 11.0.18.
