cant open files anymore

when i attempt to open a file that was working earlier I now receive a trial message that pops up telling that I can try this product for 32767 days. when I select start trial it just pops up again. I've paid for adobe and its worked for the past two years. When I select the acrobat icon on my desktop the same trial selection pops up
