Combining Word Docs - Word launches for every document

When combining word docs Acrobat Launches Word for every doc converted to PDF. This is very annoying especially when you are combining several word docs. How do I disable this?

Could you please let us know the exact dot version of Acrobat, MS Office and OS installed on your system? 

If you are on Windows platform, please launch Acrobat, navigate to Help menu & repair the installation. Also check for the updates under the Help menu, if any please install.

Also, make sure Acrobat is compatible with MS Office version Web browsers and PDFMaker applications compatible with Acrobat and Reader
