As you've asked in the Reader forum perhaps you are use the free Adobe Reader?

Reader cannot edit PDF.

The Acrobat product (for instance, Acrobat Pro) supports textual content editing (although this is always best done back in the source file as PDF is decidedly *not* a word processor file format).

Or, a subscription to an appropriate service online at Adobe's Document Cloud PDF Services.

Could you please explain the workflow.

What exactly are you trying do ?

What happens when you edit a PDF?

If there is any error message,please share the screen shot.

What dot version of Acrobat do you work on?

Also tell us the OS.

I use a Mac Book OSX El Capitan version 10.11.3. I have a document that I

created in PDF and it is stored in documents. When I pull up that document

and try to edit, I don't get a cursor and cannot make any changes. I don't

get an error message, I just can't get any change in the document. I have

Adobe Acrobat XI. Does that answer your questions?
