Question

crashes on windows 10

I recently bought two new computers with high end i7 processors and purchased two licenses of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  First several files OCR'd without issue.  Now both will not process a complete file.  both crash unexpectedly every time (even test files).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro DC and this has not helped.  I did see in the windows log that a dll file is causing it to crash?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am way being on servicing client.  THANKS!

Hi Mark,

We apologize for the issue you are facing. Please install the latest update available Help> Check for updates. It should resolve the issue.

If not please share Crash logs (you can use https://cloud.acrobat.com/send  for sharing logs).

To create logs please follow these steps.

  1. Retry the scenario where Acrobat crashes
  2. Do not close the pop-up when Acrobat crash
  3. Open Task manager
  4. Right click on “Acrobat.exe *32” process and select ‘Create Dump file’
  5. It will create a log file in temp folder. (Path will be displayed on pop-up comes when logs created). You can also check this under
    1. Open Run process (Win+R)
    2. Type %temp%
    3. Logs file will be available here with name Acrobat.DMP

Feel free to contact us if you need any further help.

Thanks.

Are there any other reports of acrobat pro DC crashing without warning?

Hi Mark Crawford,

Please try to use cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs to uninstall the Acrobat Pro DC and restart your system.

Then try to re-install it from this link: Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI, or X

Let us know if this helps.

Regards,

Meenakshi
