Custom Calculation Script Help

I have no experience with java. Appreciate help in creating a custom calculation script please.

The form is a checkbook register. I need to calculate the balance in each line/row of the register. Beginning balance + or - (check or deposit) = balance. Can someone please help get me started on the calculation script?
