DC Portfolio does not require Flash - Does my old copy of Acrobat Pro?

I want to create portfolios containing release notes for my employer, a Fortune 500 software company. 

The Adobe site advertises that DC Portfolio end-users do not require Flash (I assume Flash is embedded in DC Portfolio).

• Do I need to have my employer buy the DC license and ditch my current Acrobat Pro version so our customers don't need the latest version of Flash before opening my portfolio?
• This DC cloud stuff spooks me (I'm old). Is the "cloud" absolutely secure for corporate use?
