Question

Default Save/Download Location for Web Downloads

How do I change the default save location when downloading PDFs from the web using IE 11 on Windows 10.  I have all other software settings to save to "Downloads" and Chrome & Firefox both default to the Downloads folder, however IE 11 default saves to the desktop with the Adobe add-in.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi PilotMR

Seems to be the issue at Microsoft's end. I would recommend you to contact Microsoft support team for the expert advice.

Hi pilotmr ,

  1. Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, and then select View downloads.
  2. In the View Downloads dialog box, select Options in the lower left hand corner.
  3. Choose a different default download location by selecting Browse, and then select OK when you're done.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Aadesh

Thank you for your reply, however I have already performed this action.  I have it set to save to my "downloads" folder, but it still continues to save to desktop by default.  Again this is only with Internet Explorer on Windows 10.  Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) work fine as did IE 11 when on Windows 7
