You may assume that the software will go off, find you own a license and use it. Subscriptions do that, permanent licenses don't.

If the software says it is a trial you must type it IN THE SOFTWARE. Nowhere else will help. If you don't see that choice (look closely) what choices does it offer?

My guess is that you haven't yet typed in your license details for Acrobat XI. You need to do that before the trial runs out, or it will stop working.

I have been using Acrobat 11 since Dec. 2012. It is registered on the accounts.adobe.com page. Where else do I need to type in my license details?

"Activate an App" says,

Adobe Acrobat XI and X are automatically activated as soon as the software detects an Internet connection.

Well, let's check what you have running. Please go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat... What version does it say (e.g. 11.0.15 or 2015.123.12345)?

Version 11.0.16.

What exactly does this unwanted dialog box say?

"Hello, Acrobat DC. Thanks for trying Acrobat DC ...."

Then the following boxes: Buy Now, License this Software, Continue Trial

I was not aware that I was/am trying Acrobat DC. How do I get rid of this annoying message?
