Dynamic form works on PC but not iPad

Hi,

I have a PDF that contains calculations. This PDF works just fine if used on the PC, but won't if opened on my iPad. From what I've read online, Adobe doesn't have an app suitable to execute dynamic forms for iPad (and I've tested them all).

HOWEVER.

My confusion comes from the fact that a form built along the same principles does work on my iPad. The person who made it is not able to be contacted because reasons, so I can't pick their brains as to how it was done. But when I open their PDF on my iPad the drop down menus work, the calculations run automatically when data is entered....

Does anyone have any ideas at all as to why this may be?

Using the Adobe Acrobat Reader app for iPad, forms created using LiveCycle Designer appear not to work, while those created in Acrobat Pro seem to work OK, in my experience.

Adobe Reader for mobile devices can use dynamic forms as long as it only uses the documented objects, properties, and methods supported ny the mobile version. No document level scripts nor folder level scripts. Very limited formatting options.

Mobil devices have limited processing power and limited memory. Also many apps do not PDF form fields.

Sorry George, but this is not a real argument.

Acrobat 3 to 5 was able to run PDF forms and JavaScript on computers that had a 800x600 screen, about 128 Mb (it's not a typo, it's a "M") RAM, and that had a CPU with not even half the power off any current smartphone.

The truth is elsewhere.
