Edit text box properties

Question

I just installed the new version of Adobe Acrobat Standard DC. In my previous version, which was admittedly many years old, I was able to add a text box and it was opaque, meaning I could use it to effectively white out (cover up parts of documents) and type over with different text.
With this new version, every time I add text, it's transparent and when I want to type over text or graphics, they show through. I can't find any way to change the properties of the textbox, just the text.

Is this no longer an option?

You can set the fill color property of the field to "white". You might want to look at using the Redaction tool in the Professional version of Acrobat. You will need to set the properties of of the redaction to a fill color of white and if your text does not need to be user editable enter you text to cover the redacted area.
