Editing a pdf and saving changes the font

I work IT for a company and we edit pdf's alot. So the issue im having is 2 of my coworkers when they edit a pdf and save it sometimes it will completely change the font. but ONLY after they save it. They edit it and the document looks fine and they hit save and it converts it and it looks awful. In some cases it will even convert it to wingdings. Any idea whats doing this? We have tried reinstalling the program multiple times and fiddled around in the settings but i've gotten nowhere. And it only happens to those 2 people, everyone else's works just fine

What exactly do you mean by 'edit'? And, which application are you using for these edits? Do you know if the application and app version is the same across your organization?

    ok so some of the pdf's sent to us have a typo, we just hit edit and fix the typo and then save it. We all use the same versions of everything. Its adobe acrobat DC
