Embedding WAV and AIFF in PDF broken in latest Acrobat Pro

I need to embed a sound via a button.  In 'add a sound' I try selecting either uncompressed WAV or AIFF files, generated by Amadeus Pro.  Acrobat Pro DC rejects both with dialogue saying only uncompressed WAV or AIFF files can be attached.  Seems to be no way round this.  I am trialling Acrobat specifically to embed WAV files in a PDF.  So, if I can't fix this, there's no point is buying.  Any thoughts?

Are you trying to embed sound or specifically .wav?

If you are just trying to embed sound, I've found .mp3 works well across platforms.

Mp3 is not an option. AIFF or WAV are the only 2 options (rich media tools). Garage Band (for example) will save in .aif. Either way, no  .aiff are recognized when trying to insert "rich media"...screenshot attached.
