Error opening PDFs

Hi all,

I am having a strange issue when opening PDFs created in AutoCAD. If a user creates a PDF through their AutoCAD program and emails it to me, i get the "Reader could not open .pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it wasn't set as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)

This only happens with files creates in AutoCAD, if the same user sends me a PDF created in Word or elsewhere, I can open it without issue. Additionally, if said user opens the file that is they emailed they can open it without issue.

in the end, I ask for them to resend the .pdf and it usually works, it is an extremely inefficient workflow though. Can anyone assist?

How are you accessing the PDF files in your email? Are you opening them from within the email client? If so, what email application are you using? Are you getting different results if you save the attached PDF file first and then open it in Adobe Reader from your computer?

Downloading and being opened in Acrobat Reader DC. No change in results if I open it within Outlook or saving it and opening.
