Error when printing to Adobe PDF - Acrobat Distiller has stopped working

When trying to print to PDF from Excel, the user is getting the error that Acrobat Distiller has stopped working (see below).  I've tried removing and reinstalling, running repair and checked for updates.  Still no change.  This machine had the Acrobat DC Trail version installed previously.  I bought a license and installed DC Standard.  Ever since we've been having this issue.  Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit & Acrobat DC Standard.

Apparently the error message appears even while Adobe Acrobat is not open.  After a recent reboot and logging in, the same error message appeared and I did not open any applications other than Outlook.
