"Excel has stopped working" when combining PDF file and Excel file

Whenever I use the combine features, and I combine a single PDF document and single excel document I get the error "Excel has stopped working." Additionally, after closing out of the Excel error window I get the following: Unable to open the document: [Document location]... Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file." Yes, I do have read permission. I've tried multiple excel files, but I continue to get the same error.

I'm on a machine with Windows 8.1x64, MSFT office 2013, and using Adobe Standard DC.

Hi ,

Please check if Acrobat is updated to the latest patch.

Also try to run a repair and see if that helps.

Is this happening with other PDF' as well?

Thank you for the response sukritd15.

Unfortunately, I've checked for updates and there are none. I also ran the "Repair Installation" and it doesn't seem it has resolved the problem. :\

This has happened with every PDF I've tired, which has been 3 or 4 of them.
