Expired Creative Cloud Conflict with Acrobat Pro DC?

A newly purchased Acrobat Pro DC 2015 version will fully download but a previous Acrobat Pro version from an expired Creative Cloud opens instead, and states it is expired. This new Acrobat Pro is installed on a Mac running OS El Capitan version 10.11.3. Attempts to remove previous Acrobat Pro (and all of Creative Cloud) do not seem to work, even after trying the Creative Cloud Cleanup Tool.
