Question

Extract a section of a pdf file AND preserve bookmarks (and sub-bookmarks)

Is it possible to extract a stretch of PDF (pages x-y) and preserve all associated bookmarks? "Extract" does not do it (bookmarks get lost). I've seen references to "Splitting" but that is not an option for Mac ("Split" merely creates a doubled window vertically).

Tried Printing the selection and saving it as PDF, but that's not allowed.

Can this be? Is it really impossible to do? tx

I think I found it:

You delete the pages before and after the desired selected page range (assuming it's a continuous range, which it is for me). Then delete the old bookmarks associated with that extraneous material. What's left is the desired result.
