Formatting Changes when Saving PDF to DOC in Acrobat

Question

My end goal is to create a template page that can be used in Microsoft Word and Pages. I created the template file using InDesign and saved it as a PDF. Then used Acrobat to save it as a Word document. When doing so, the formatting of the template becomes way off! Any ideas how to fix this?

If you could make fancy designs in Word we wouldn't need InDesign. You're trying to do magic with what is a very simple converter meant for recovering from lost originals. Design it in Word! If you can't, then how could Acrobat export it...?
