How do I search and highlight a symbol throughout an adobe dc document. I am a cross stitcher. My patterns are in PDF format and each page is a graph full of various symbols. I want to be able to highlight a symbol throughout a document and then unhighlight it or highlight the next symbol in a different color. Can someone help me with how to do this if it is possible, please?

If you have Acrobat Pro then it can be done using an Action. Otherwise you can do it using a script, like this one I've developed: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Highlight All Instances of a Word or Phrase in a PDF

Have you tried going to:

Edit >> Find (or just use CTRL+F)

This gives you the option to click next button and it finds all of them

one by one.

Acrobat forum is here:

Or reader forum is here:

Good luck.

Thank you for the links mytaxsite. However, I do know how to do a find and then do the next and next. I need to find and highlight all instances of the symbol.
