I already set the fields to one font, but want to change after I test filled the fields with text in preview mode . but now when I highlight the fields and select properties and select a different font and size, It shows the new font selection but the fields will not change what has already been entered. I tried editing the field and deleteing the text and retyping same original font type and size is still there

Hi.

I guess that these fields use the "Allow rich text formatting" option.

So, it's not Properties : Appearance that lead the text formatting, it's the "Form field text properties" bar (CRTL-E or CMD-E).

Untick the "Allow rich text formatting" option to revert this behavior.

I've never experienced this or seen it reported by anyone else. Can you tell us exactly what version of Acrobat you're using, including OS? It would also be helpful if you could post a sample form somewhere that behaves this way so we can test it out.
