Question

How do I HIGHLIGHT without also getting a COMMENT BOX?

I am working with Adobe Pro DC on the Mac with the latest version of each. I would like to make a highlight but NOT have a comment note show up. Is there a way to do that?

For example, I am copyediting and need to mark the same change over and over without having a comment show up. I put the notes in the first comment.

Is there a way?

Go to Edit - Preferences - Commenting and tick off "Automatically open comment pop-ups for comments other than notes".

No, but you can flatten markups after making them, which converts the markup appearance to regular page contents and removes the annotation, including the associated popup annotation. Here's a free JavaScript-based tool that makes this easy: UVSAR : Selective Flattener tool for Adobe Acrobat 8, 9 and X

It works with Acrobat 11 and DC as well.
