How do I install Acrobat 8 on my new Windows 10 PC as there is no download link?

I have just bought a new PC with Windows 10.  I tried downloading Acrobat 8 which is what I have a serial number for but there is no link to do so.  Customer service say Acrobat 8 is an old version and has not been tested on Windows 10 but I am reluctant to buy another version.  Is there a way to get Acrobat 8 on Windows 10?  If not, what is the most similar current version?

Acrobat 8 as initially released only works on Windows versions no later than Windows XP. Updated to 8.1, it will install and most functions work under Windows 7 and 8.x. It is not officially supported under Windows 10 and even more importantly, it does not work with any reasonably modern version of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or Internet Explorer.

We would strongly advise you to license Acrobat DC. (Note that the only version of Acrobat that is currently available is Acrobat DC).
