How Do I load standard plug-ins like compare?

In the "About Adobe Plug-ins" there are a bunch of plug-ins that are certified but are not loaded. I have found the API file on my computer but it is not loaded. How do I do this?

I think you've been reading advice written for other versions of Acrobat. It has been radically redesigned several times. Why not use the Help menu in your version...

Where are you looking for the function / what is missing?

The only function I'm looking for right now is the compare function. I've looked everywhere in the menus i.e. file, edit, tools, etc. Doing a quick search online, the compare plug-in should have been under tools, but it isn't there.
