Question

How do I make Adobe Acrobat DC Standard view multiple documents as tabs?

This is supposed to be the "default" setting, but it is not even an "available" setting. If I go to Edit > Preferences > General > there is no box to check to turn this on and off. So, the option is not even available.

Yes it is ironic. The permanent license version will only get feature updates every couple of years I guess, on a paid upgrade.

Perhaps you didn't subscribe so you don't get feature updates.

I assume you have the perpetual license version of Acrobat DC Standard. The multi-tab view was introduced only in the subscription version.

You have to different choices to license Acrobat DC: You can get a perpetual license version, which means one payment upfront, or you can get a subscription with monthly or yearly payments. Adobe is adding new functionality only to the subscription version.

Yes. I don't have the subscription. Solution? Download the reader for  FREE! The service is ironically available in the thing you can get for free but not in the version you buy.
