There are urls which show themselves when I scroll over a picture.  How do I open the url?  Specifically for MAC

Are you talking about images in a PDF file? If so, it depends on how the file was created. It's possible they are not real links but just alt-text that is shown when you hover over the image.

If that's the case you can't open them directly from the file.
