Here's a sample file that includes a button that prompts the user to select a file to attach: http://acroscript.net/pdf/demos/importFileJS_v1.pdf

This makes the process easier for those who know nothing about manually adding file attachment comments. Attaching files as comments worked with Reader versions prior to 11 (XI), but the document has to be Reader-enabled for it to work and the user has to know how to do it. The JavaScript method used in the demo file above requires Reader 11 (Windows/Mac) or later.

No set-up is required. If the users have a Reader XI or higher they can use the Attach File commenting tool to do it.
