How to limit the number of checkboxes selected on a PDF document

I am trying to limit the number of checkbox choice selected on a PDF document and have two sets of boxes where I would like to allow 7 choices of 9 boxes and 1 of 2 boxes on the same page. I have looked at a previous archived forum at https://acrobatusers.com/forum/forms-acrobat/limit-number-checkboxes-selected/ but having no experience in JavaScript, I cannot get it to work.

Unfortunately, you need JavaScript for this. What kind of problems are you running into?

Hi Karl, sorry it took so long to get back to you but someone whom I work with said they would solve it and I have been waiting but to no avail. Anyway I am trying to make a PDF document to limit check boxes as I keep getting them back with all nine checked and I only want 7 of the nine and a second section where I want 1 of the two boxes selected. I did find a code on a past forum (see link in original question) but cannot figure out the terminology used. I have no experience in JavaScript so am up the creek here.

This is a picture of what I am talking about, don't know why some of the table decide to not be outlined but they are in the original.
