I am having trouble merging files into a PDF. Can someone assist?

When I do a file merge, it stops responding.

When I add file and click "combine files", after the first one, it does not respond.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole suite.

I tried just uninstalling and reinstalling the Acrobat.

I tried different files.

I tried making them PDFs first.

I enabled security.

I added the registry key noted in a forum in this area.

I changed my browser.
