I am reinstalling the CS4 Master Collection after logic board failure and everything works EXCEPT Acrobat Pro 9. I am running El Capitan on A Macbook Pro. The program was working using El Capitan until the logic board failure--I use it daily.  I have reinstalled the entire Collection but when I open I only get Acrobat word in finder no other menus - the application does not open. To begin with I get an error message.

Acrobat has detected there are missing components

Adobe Pdf finder

Adobe PDF Viewer plug in.

I had tried to uncheck the boxes but no difference.

How do I get a functioning program again? If Acrobat Pro 9 is no longer supported, how to I get a supported version of the software that will work on my computer?

Thanks.

Hi ,

Would like to inform that Acrobat Pro 9 & CS4 never been tested with MAC OS X 10.11.

That's why it showing such compatibility issues at your end .

Also would like to share that Acrobat Pro 9 is is declared as EOS (End of support) Product version

Thank you for the explanation. I actually got Acrobat to install and it now works. I downloaded and installed Adobe Reader XI (I think, http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/11.x/11.0.02/en_US/AdbeRdr11002_en_US.dmg ) and opened the program. I noticed that after I opened the new reader, my Adobe Reader 9 program began to work. After that I tried to open Acrobat and instead of getting the Error 6 message that I got before, I got an error about a licensing issue that would require me to uninstall and reinstall the software. Once I did those steps my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro began to work! Don't know the whys of it but my program is fully functioning again. I hope this will help someone else, which I why I came back to reply.

Thank you thank you thank you! This worked! Chat support said they wouldn't help and kept sending me here. I've read thru other forums with no solutions and landed on here and it worked! So grateful!

When I uninstalled, I did completely delete the Acrobat folder from my computer (and emptied the trash) before the reinstall. Not sure if that was important but I want to be as thorough as possible if it will help someone else.

Also, Adobe Reader is unresponsive with the same issue.

Hi marim52283116 ,

Would like to inform that Acrobat Pro 9 is not compatible with this MAC OS X version , refer to this article for tech specs :- Adobe Acrobat system requirements

In this case, would like to inform that you need to purchase the Full version for Acrobat Pro DC or XI (compatible versions for this OS) because its not possible to upgrade from suite product (CS4) to point product .

I guess I am not understanding why it is not compatible when it was operating fine before I had to have my computer repaired. I was running the lates OS X without any issues with my Adobe products. Is it something with the install?
