I am running 2 different versions of Acrobat Pro. 7.0 and 9.0. When I create a PDF in version 7 and password protect the document I can open that PDF in version 9 and remove security without it asking for the password.

I am running 2 different versions of Acrobat Pro. 7.0 and 9.0. When I create a PDF in version 7 and password protect the document I can open that PDF in version 9 and remove security without it asking for the password. If I create the PDF in 9 and password secure I cannot remove the security in 7. What is going on here. I am running Windows 7 pro and have tried this on 5 different computers running the same software. I think it is a fluke in Acrobat.

I don't see the same thing. Can you confirm that you saved the file after adding password security when using Acrobat 7?
