I attempted to replace Acrobat X by Acrobat DC. But I could not deinstall Acrobat X.

I got an error message: Could not access Key \.xdp\AcroExchXDPDoc\Shellnew. How can I repair this?

Hi Andre Hertkorn,

Please let me know what version of Acrobat you are using.

On Windows, you might try running the cleaner tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to uninstall Acrobat X completely.

Then, restart your computer and install Acrobat DC.

Hi Anubha

thanks for the quich response.

Meanwhile I resolved the problem by changing the access rights for the key .xdp (the installation programme complained that it could not create a subventry in the key ".xpd") After changing the access rights in favor of the "administrator " including sub-entries the upgrade went smoothly.

Best regards

Andre
