I cant change my security method

When sending PDF files its asking the receiver for a password. I have no idea on what that is. Ive seen other answers to this question saying go to file - properties and security to change but its not letting me change the security method. Can someone please help?

Experience has shown that the usual cause of this problem is expecting to do it without paying. You need to buy or subscribe to Acrobat. Acrobat is NOT THE SAME AS Reader.
