i do not have the license # for my adobe acrobat , how do i get the upgrade?

You can only upgrade to Acrobat DC if you have a license for Acrobat X (10) or Acrobat XI (11). If you have only 8, it is many years too late for a discounted upgrade.  Consider a subscription, strongly recommended as it includes future upgrades and is already more up to date.
