I do not want my PDFS saved as a Portfolio

When logged in acrobat DC it only allows me to create a portfolio and when I send it no one can open on the other end.

I wonder if you could tell us what you see that tell you it's a portfolio - for these PDF files made in other apps. NOT COMBINED IN ACROBAT. A screen shot might help - DON'T EMAIL IT.

I have the same problem.

I don't want portfolios, I want to work on - or just look at - 1 (one) PDF file at a time.

Often perfectly regular pdf files created by a perfectly normal pdf program, open in Acrobat as a portfolio. I hate it!

Is there any way to turn off all that portfolio junk once and for all?

Otherwise I may switch to another PDF-program, because all that extra work with the portfolio enclosure of the files is a constant annoyance to me.

Please help me before I discard of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

When I am in Adobe acrobat pro and I go in to use the combine tool, after I select combine, adobe automatically saves it as a "portfolio" when you look at the icon in the file it's saved as it looks like a PDF, but its named in adobe as a portfolio and people on the other end cannot open it. I have looked a setting after setting, theres not even an option for "save as" its just save portfolio. It's very frustrating and I think I've turned on or off a setting that's caused this. I might just uninstall and reinstall adobe and see if that fixes it.

but If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it!

Reinstalling unlikely to change this. Turn off "create portfolio" in the Combine options. To get the options, click the "gear" symbol on the Combine files toolbar.

(It's possible that certain kinds of file, such as secured PDFs, can ONLY be saved as a portfolio).
