I have a ninety page publication to create from existing PDFs. I run the existing PDFs thru in design in order to export PDFs with printer settings. Would data merge for this?

‌Using InDesign seems unnecessary as Acrobat can easily combine or split files. But I don't know what you mean by "data merge". .

Perhaps you you could explain in more detail. You have 96 separate PDFs at the start and want 96 separate PDFs at the end? Why do you need to do anything?
