I have a questionnaire that would be ideal for a fillable PDF, but am having trouble beyond the creation of the form. I have successfully created the form using Acrobat 9 Pro extended and it was really simple. However, when I went to save it on my computer what was saved was the pre-fillable format. I can’t seem to find a way to save it in the fillable format. The only way that I could open the form is by accessing it through Acrobat 9 Pro extended. My intention is that once the fillable format is saved on my computer, I would be able to send it to a client for them to complete and send it back to me. I tried sending the fillable version opened in Acrobat 9 Pro extended to myself, but when I open the attachment, the pre-filled version appeared.

Once I learn how to properly save the fillable form, a follow-up question would be what my client needs (in terms of PDF software) on their side to view and fill in the form.

I must be doing something basically wrong. Could you please help me? Thank you.

If you are using any version of Reader below X you need to add Extended Reader From Rights.

Unfortunately, I am not proficient with Adobe to understand your answer. I am sorry, but could you be more specific and elaborate? The only thing that I can tell you is that I am using Acrobat 9 Pro extended and not a version of Reader. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

It should be a menu item under "Advanced" as 'Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader'.
