I am sorry if this is somewhat off topic, but I couldn't find a topic for just troubleshooting.

I randomly get an unwanted split screen view, and one of the screens is frozen. I would appreciate if anyone has some experience or ideas on how to fix this.

What version of Acrobat are you using? Does it look the same as when you select: Window > Split

If not, can you post a screen shot?

I have Acrobat XI.

When I choose split screen, I get a horizontal split (one screen under the other). What's happening is vertical (L-R). When I go to the menu, There is no option to remove the split. It is as if I never chose to split the screen.
