I want to use Photoshop illustrator on a different computer with a touch pad. Can I switch computers?

So I really, REALLY want to make my own clipart and I thought Photoshop would be great for my laptop.  After watching more tutorials I have realized that a touch pad laptop would be best with Illustrator (which I also bought). My husband has a touch pad.  Can I switch my purchase to a different computer?
