I would like to permantly disable the append to existing document feature when I scan

I set the default for my scanning to not append to existing documents.  Every time I try to scan it comes back.  How do I permanently disable it.  I would also like to add the Comment that every time I upgrade my Acrobat, I have great difficulty finding the tools, etc.  It is like buying a new car and having the steering wheel on the roof!!!

I don't think this is a feature of Acrobat. It might be a part of your scanner software...

This feature is part of my Acrobat DOCUMENT software, not my scanner. Since I sent this message I discovered the append to existing document box is only activated when I hae previously scanned something and not saved it—something I do a lot—which is not good but like everyone I am always multi-tasking. Thanks for your input.
