I would like to upgrade from Adobe Acrobat XI to the DC standalone version - how do you go about this?

Is this possible or do I have to buy the full version. I do not want the subscription model.

It may be worth noting that the standalone version is frozen with its original features and dies not match the downloadable trial. Especially, no tabs.
