So I have been trying to find an answer to this sense the release of acrobat x. When you pullout a guide from the ruler there is no preview of where that guide will end up. The preview usually shows up as a black line that then turns blue. This feature exists in all the other Adobe products I use (illustrator, photoshop, INdesign etc.) but after updating to Acrobat x it seemed to go away. Does any one know why this is and how to fix it? It's very annoying to try and place guides without that preview.

I am creating a form which will be submitted via email. I need the form to CC an email address based on a field value.I need it to be based on: field = employee ID then cc the email address for the particular IDI've currently got the rest of it working. Hi,I am trying to implement a delete button in which attached files can be removed from the current document.  I need to create a dialog box that  lists all the attached files in which the user can choose to delete, and then have the dialog box refresh the list with whatever files are left.  I have been looking into the execDialog and Dialog objects as a solution, but I am not sure if this is the best approach.  Are there better solutions?Also, the users will be using Adobe Reader, which is why I am trying to implement a delete button because it does not exist.  Is this possible to do in Reader?I am new to Javascript, so if you know any good resources that will speed up my learning process using it to interact with Acrobat, I would appreciate it.Thanks.

I use an Epson Perfection 3400 Photo scanner with Acrobat Pro DC 2015 and recently upgraded to Mac OS X (El Capitain) 10.11.2. When I tried to create a pdf from scanner in Acrobat (File > Create > PDF from Scanner) my scanner wasn't showing up, and upon trying to scan with other applications, it seemed that the error was scanner recognition by Mac OS. I found this fix by searching Apple Support:Open Image CaptureSelect File >Reset TWAIN devices.Close Image Capture.Once I did this, the scanner was selectable from the Devices pop-up menu in the Acrobat Scan window.Here's the original post: What happened to my scanner El Capitan? | Apple Support Communities

In my form, I'm trying to display a text box based on the value entered in another field (labeled Rating) falling into the range of 3.5 to 5.0. I've done a lot of research and everything I found says that the jscript code below should do what I want, but clearly I'm missing something as it has no effect. Seems like the pan direction should be in the direction  of the mouse movement (left <- left<- or right -> right->); as you would move a paper on a table.  Instead the movement is in the opposite (left <- right -> or right -> left<-).Is there a way to reverse this pan setting?

I have a process that detects rotated pages and sets their orientation to 0 but I also need to detect vertical text on a page and act on that. In the test files I an using the page has not been rotated but the text (rasterized) is vertical. Using the Acrobat 11.0 object model through VB.NET, how can I achieve that? The following code does handle where the page has been rotated but does not detect the vertical text. I am trying to use Javascript to automatically insert buttons in a document that link to other pages within the document. In order to place the button I use this.addfield, however cant find the syntax for the setAction statement.So I then tried to set it to run a javascript making use of cscript with to set this.pageNum = x, however when ever I check the properties of the button the pageNum has been changed to the page the button has been placed on.What syntax to I need to place a button field onto a page with the selected action going to a page view. Or how do I write the javascript to use this.pageNum to another page in the pdf.

Hi,I am filling up PDF forms from Vba in Microsoft Access. Everything goes fine, except that I am unable to check checkboxes from my code.My code is pretty simple, something like that :Set field = jso.getField("checkboxfieldname")field.Value = TrueI tried everything I could think of: 1, "1", "On, "on", True, "checked", etc. Nothing seems to work.I looked at the SDK: nothing on how to check checkboxes from vba in the documentation, nothing in examples either...I'm sure the answer is simple 🙂Thanks for your help,Patrick

One of our planned product's core features requires click event handling within a PDF file, or the ability the detect bookmark/hyperlink click events. I can't seem to find any help about this specific issue, does anyone know if it's possible? And if it is, can it be done with natively with C#? Hi,I happened to have to work in a very old environment with Adobe Acrobat 7.1 installed, but I think even newer version does not have an API for this.Say I have some random data var data = 0xe3f2b1 and I want to save this data alone to the hard drive. Would there be a way to do this?I tried to convert to string, create data object and then export data object, likevar str = String.fromCharCode(0xe3, 0xf2, 0xb1);this.createDataObject("MyData.dat", str);this.exportDataObject("MyData.dat");This ended up not saving any byte greater than 0x80 (not saving anything in extended ASCII range). If I have a byte 0xb0, it would be saved as 0x80.Just wondering is there any way to export random data out of the Acrobat? Even if emailing the data file out as an email attachment would be fine.

Hi all - I am developing a Acrobat Javascript to download survey results from Epicollect 5 (a basic data collection app) and populate them in a PDF form. I am able to make HTTP requests using Net.HTTP.request to authenticate and to retrieve the text results from the survey. But the survey results also include a set of photos, which can be retrieved individually by a GET request. Can anyone provide any hints or examples of how to add a .jpg image as an attachment from the stream result from a web call?My idea is to download and add the images as attachments, then switch the image fields on the form to display those images. Ok, so I've done some research on trying to add the auto tab feature to a fillable form I'm creating. It's a questionnaire and I need it to auto tab onto multiple lines (2 different text fields), I needed to create enough room for someone to write anywhere from 20-150 characters without having to tab to the next line to complete the answer. I'm no where near understanding javascript, but in my quest in trying to figure out how to auto tab I learned that I need to input the correct javascript in the first text field properties under the format tab. I've came across multiple forums that have showed me similar javascript, but I cannot get it to work in my fillable form. So hopefully anyone who replies to this can dumb it down a bit for me to understand. Or at least point me in the right direction, any help is appreciated.

I don't know Javascript, but I know that what I'm looking for is a basic script.Anyhoo.....I have two fields.The 1st field is blank, unless an amount or number is entered.The 2nd field divides the number from the 1st field into 12 and then adds 2.I was able to figure out how to get field 2 to function the way i'd like, but field two shows the initial value as 2, and I need the field to be blank.I need it to be blank because there is third field that adds the sum of the second field automatically, and there are multiple field2s so the 3rd field automatically adds the field 2sDoes this make sense? I hope someone can help out.Thanks

Hello!I am running into issues and I can't seem to figure out why.I'll try to write this simply... I am working on a paperwork package for a dealership to handle multiple vehicles sold at once. I have a couple line items that are divided evenly amongst all vehicles sold. If it is NOT able to be divided evenly, the remainder is calculated and added or deducted from the first vehicle sold. That is all working just fine. My problem is here... If the item is not divided evenly, a warning icon appears next to the line. I have an Adobe form with fields that have a parent, child relationship.    If I check (or uncheck) Check Box7  which is the parent,    which would indicate it is  Not Applicable,how do I get the Child checkboxes   (Check Box 8,  Check Box 9,  Check Box 10)  to check or uncheck?In addition,   a child should be able to be selected without selecting the parent or the other children Check Boxes. So if the Parent field is applicable,    but  Check Box 9 is not applicable,  I would need to be able to check just Check Box9 withoutit affecting any other check boxes.I tried some of the suggestions I found online but keep getting syntax errors and was not able to use them....Please help!
