Installed Acrobat Reader but it won't open?

Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.app. It installed. When I tried to open a doc with it I got a message saying I needed to install Acro Reader. I tried to reinstall it but got an Adobe message saying it's already installed.

When I try to open a doc that needs Reader I get this message:

Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Acrobat Reader DC works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

If the issue still persist , would request you to please check with the different user account to replicate the issue .
