installing on Mac and installer asks me to select the copy of Adobe acrobat to update

I have performed a format of my MacBook Pro and attempted a clean install of Adobe Acrobat Pro. The installer gets half way through writting files and asks me to "select the copy of Adobe acrobat to update". I have not had a copy on this Mac before and thus there is no copy to select to update. the only option I am left with is cancelling, and the install fails.

Please help.
