Integrate and show a youtube video into a PDF

I want to integrate a youtube video into a PDF. How do I first find out what format the video is in? Then I did tests and simply appended the ending .mp4 to the URL. The window then got an arrow and when I clicked on it, the film didn't appear, but the window turned gray. A pop-up window opened with the message "controls no". So what do I have to do to embed the video and be able to view it?

Info: you can insert a file or URL for a video. The URL must be the direct URL of a movie stream. Youtube does NOT offer anything like this (by design), it's a full service media player. You would have to host the video on a media server of some kind.

Since you presumably own the Youtube video and have the original, you can add it as a file if you don't have a separate movie.

It is no longer possible to link videos from YouTube in a PDF because it violates the rules of use of YouTube.

This is not possible, unless you download the video and embed it in the file, but then it's not really a YT video, just a regular one.
