Is it possible to determine if a PDF has layers/OCGs using VB.net?

I would like to be able to determine if a PDF has layers/OCGs in it using an existing VB.net where we are previewing images.

We have some graphics files that our graphics department didn't turn off a layer with template marks on them.

We can't see them in the preview, but they do show up when actually printed.

When I come across one, I want to be able to alert them to correct the situation.
